What’s On Your Playlist?
Here in NYC, the winter months are often the most difficult to stay healthy and in shape. Between the never-ending colds that get passed back and forth, and the lack of warmth and sunshine to maintain your daily outdoor run/bike ride/walk/cardio of choice, getting in the proper amount of fresh air and exercise is challenging. The key is to take advantage during the times when we DO have tolerable (sometimes even spring-like!) weather, and to make the most of it.
Personally I find that the best way to have a successful, kick-ass workout is to have a playlist that motivates you. Listed below are the songs from one of my recent playlists that you’ll often find on “shuffle” on my iPod during a run. I’ll post a new one each week this month, mixed with new and old tunes from established and rising artists. Additionally, applications such as “Nike+ GPS” and “Map My Run” allow you to track your progress and give you that extra boost of competitive spirit when you’re in a bit of a lag. Happy body, happy mind, happy heart.
Happy Monday!
