Being an independent artist is a full-time job, and for some people it’s a SECOND full-time job. Between booking, auditions, social media management, networking, promoting, performing, etc., it’s sometimes impossible to find 5 minutes to just grab a bite to eat and focus on your overall mental and physical well-being.
NYC Art Scene wants to change that. Starting this month I’m organizing a FREE health and fitness group for artists looking for motivation, new workout tips and routines, and like-minded individuals to share in the process of bettering yourself and your current state of health. Once a week (weather-permitting) we’ll meet up at one of the parks in the city or Brooklyn and spend an hour escaping from the stress of real life and focusing on our fitness goals. Sessions will rotate between Pilates, running, biking, yoga, nutrition, stage posture and core strengthening, walking and more, and will feature special guests from the health industry to offer new tips and pointers. It’s a great way to meet people and network while being productive and making self-improvements, and best of all, it won’t cost you a thing. All I ask that you bring is your favorite music to workout to and bundles of positive energy.
